Codename: (P.O.P.T.A.R.T.S)

Welcome to Team UP! We have developed a Youth Travel Ninja Team Participation Policy and to make our policy fun and easy to remember, we've come up with P.O.P.T.A.R.T.S. As in Sally, The Safest Sloth’s favorite food is POP-TARTS!

P.O.P.T.A.R.T.S. stands for Present, On Time, Participation, Teamwork, Ambition, Respect, Team Spirit, and Safety.

This agreement is for both the Team participant and parents/guardians. Parents, please print, read over with your child, and sign this agreement together to ensure understanding and commitment. Extra copies will be available at the gym! Note that the web version is a little more in-depth just to clarify certain expectations to parents.

  • "Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘Showing up and working hard consistently is the biggest key to success!’”

I agree to participate in all team activities, including both weekly practices and all Team competitive scheduled competitions. We strongly encourage you to participate in the skills class on Friday and attend extra Open Gyms (home & away) for extra practice and different looks.

  • "Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘Be on time!’”

I agree to be prepared to work as soon as the coach starts class, and in some cases before. If I am late to class, I will show urgency to get out there ASAP and take full advantage of every second of class!

  • “Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘You are the only one in charge of how hard you work!’”

I understand that consistently working hard is a huge part of how I will get better.

I agree to try my best no matter what at both practices, open gyms, & competitions!

  • "Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘A team is a puzzle and you are a piece, complete the picture!’"

Teamwork makes the dream work. Your individual skills are important, but the team’s success hinges on collective effort. Shared passion is a powerful thing.

I agree to always work with, cheer on, help, and even push in a positive way my teammates to make them better!

  • "Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘Reach for MEGA WALL!’"

Always strive for personal and team betterment. Setting realistic goals both short-term and long term will push your boundaries, hold you accountable for your effort, and give you results to learn from!

I agree to set realistic goals for this competitive season with my parents and coaches and do my best to reach those goals.

  • "Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘RESPECT is the Golden POPTARTS.. I mean RULE’”

Treat people the way you would like to be treated.

I agree to respect my teammates, my parents, my coaches, the gym itself with the equipment provided to make you better. I also agree to have the same respect for other gyms, their equipment, coaches, owners, and especially your compeitiors and thier parents.

  • "Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘When we do Ninja we dress UP for the occasion!’"

I agree to always wear my Team UP Jersey when competiting.

Team Spirit isn't just about how you look; it extends to how you represent our team in the community. Always be conscious that you are an ambassador for our program. Uphold the values of sportsmanship, integrity, and respect both in and out of competition. Your behavior should uplift and positively represent our team, contributing to a sense of community and shared purpose.

  • "Sally the Safest Sloth says, ‘Safety isn’t just a slogan, it’s a way of life!’"

I agree to prioritize safety in all activities. Notify coaches of any injuries or limitations before practice or competitions. (In most cases unless seriously injured or sick we can modify to have you still participate in class). Coaches reserve the right to sit or pull an athlete from an event if it is deemed unsafe for the athlete to participate. All obstacles and courses are checked by the coach for safety; they may ask athletes to skip or in extreme situations not participate if deemed unsafe. (We don’t anticipate this to happen but won’t hesitate to enforce if we feel someone could get seriously hurt.
